Silk Road Review: A Literary Crossroads an Undergraduate run magazine out of Pacific University, Oregon, publishes vibrant, well-crafted fiction, essays, poetry, one-act plays, short screenplays, translations, graphic narratives, and art that explore human dynamics and social transformation that occur in any story-rich location in the world.
We are delighted to share that Silk Road Review: A Literary Crossroads is now a paying literary magazine. Contributors will receive $10/page for written work for a maximum of $250 per published piece and $30 for each piece of artwork.
Writers receive payment for their work and one copy of the issue in which their work appears when it is released.
Submissions should be sent via the online submission system as .doc or .docx file in 12 point Times New Roman, double-spaced, with one inch margins. The author's name, address, email address, and phone number must be printed on the first page. Please number each page. Any alterations to the submission should be sent through Submittable.
Here are the further specifications by genre: Fiction (Up to 20 pages), Nonfiction (Up to 20 pages), Poetry (Up to 5 per submission document), Translations (Inclusion of original encouraged), First Chapters (Up to 15 pages), Artwork (Up to 5 per submission document), One Act Plays and Screenplays (Up to 20 pages), Graphic Narratives (No more than 5in x 8in size, The first page can be in color, but the rest should be in black and white, 25 page limit, 300 dpi images)
We are always accepting new submissions, but our reading period is from September 1st-December 1st and February 1st-May 1st. Any submissions sent to us outside of our reading periods will be considered in the next reading period.

In order to fit into our issue, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines for the graphic narrative you are submitting.
- No more than 5in x 8in size
- The first page can be in color, but the rest should be in black and white
- 25 page limit
- 300 dpi images
We accept screenplays up to 25 pages. All submissions must be in 12 point Times New Roman, double-spaced, with one inch margins. The author's name, address, email address, and phone number must be printed on the first page. Please number each page.
Please send up to 5 images of your original artwork in .jpeg or .png format. The digital photo or scanned image must be 300dpi. We are not accepting audio or video at this time.

This print copy will be delivered via US Mail to the address you provide. Please choose the issue from the drop down menu.
If you are ordering more than one copy, please email us confirming your large order.
If you are ordering issues between May 15 - August 31, or Dec 15 - January 31, shipping will be delayed.
